When I read on the list that this week’s theme would be pink or red, I knew exactly what I wanted to photograph.
Almost 8 years ago when I moved to India, my husband and I went on a city wide search for a cat. I’d not long moved to India and I needed a little company. There are no pet stores in our city (goldfish and birds exempt), so after dialing a series of numbers and going on a wild goose chase, we ended up at the door of a man who said he had a persian cat he’d consider selling.
It was love at first sight. He was a tiny little ball of creamy fluff… I had to have him. My husband haggled while I cuddled him in the car, there was no way he wasn’t coming home with me. Not only for his sweet face but because he had one of his ears partially severed and many lesions on his paws and body. He needed me, I needed him. He was my baby long before I had babies of my own.
We nursed him back to health and in return, he has provided us with endless cuddles and laughter.
These pictures don’t have a flood of pink or red but they do have the sweetest little kitty nose and paws you ever did see.

Check back in on Friday for the next picture in the 52 week circle, I’ve posted early as I’ll be away on Friday.
